Default Replacing Reverse lock Out Solenoid on 2012 M6

Is there a special tool required to replace the reverse lock out solenoid on a 2012 M6? The size is 1 1/16 or 27mm but the deep sockets are 2 shallow. Any hep would be appreciated.

Would an oil pressure sender socket work? It's a 27 1-1/16" as well. You can get them at any parts store.

Just need the correct socket. I've had zero issues and did mine on the car.

This post disagrees on socket size but offers some tips that may help:

Default socket

OK again. The original is a 34MM. Buy an impact type deep socket (Autozone). A sear Craftsman 27MM Deep will work for the replacement. Use a 1/2 to 3/8 ratchet adapter. You have to do this by feel as you cannot see on top of the Trans. I did however bored the 27MM socket for a longer depth to engage the hex. Takes all of about 15Min. Mine is an 05 Coupe with M6 Trans.
