I have a c6 grand sport 6speed auto and I wanted to replace my aluminum stock block to iron block, I've been told that if I want to put on the iron block I need suspension modification due to the heavy weight.
My question is if I really need suspension modification and if I do what do you recommend (goal is 800whp).
And does a forged non stroker aluminum block can support up to 1000whp.
Thanks for the helpers
My understanding is that the extra weight of the Iron block is very noticeable. But if you don't care about handling, and honestly it will still handle admirably, than get the iron block.
The iron block is about 100 lbs more then the aluminum block..Thats a considerable amount of extra weight over the front wheels... I would guess it would affect the handling quite a bit without altering the suspension to compensate....WW
