Default Do I need a crank pin kit?

Having the wobble in my harmonic balancer replaced with a powerbond underdrive pulley. Motor is stock. My buddy is helping and recommended pinning the crank. He did say it might be overkill, but if were replacing the pulley and already in there, then might as well pin it.

Thoughts??

Pinning the crank is never a bad idea. If you have any other questions do not hesitate to ask!

Do you need to? No. Will there ever be an easier time to do it? Also no.

Pinning the crank is required for supercharger systems. Prior to the LS series, small blocks had a machined keyway. It hurts nothing and is easy to do. Plus, if you ever do decide to do more serious mods, You won't have the hassle and expense of pulling everything out again for a fifteen minute job.

Does that balancer have a keyway in it? If so you may want to use it with something like the ATI crank pinning kit.

I keyed my ATI balancer when I installed it because it definitely can't hurt unless you screw up the drilling process.

Same here...

I have an aftermarket damper and the bolt has backed out twice (not fun) I found a pining kit that is quite awesome check link below be sure to check instruction PDF.. PS will only work with their damper.

the powerbond is a heavy hb so it might be a good idea to pin it
