Having the wobble in my harmonic balancer replaced with a powerbond underdrive pulley. Motor is stock. My buddy is helping and recommended pinning the crank. He did say it might be overkill, but if were replacing the pulley and already in there, then might as well pin it.

Pinning the crank is never a bad idea. If you have any other questions do not hesitate to ask!
Do you need to? No. Will there ever be an easier time to do it? Also no.
Pinning the crank is required for supercharger systems. Prior to the LS series, small blocks had a machined keyway. It hurts nothing and is easy to do. Plus, if you ever do decide to do more serious mods, You won't have the hassle and expense of pulling everything out again for a fifteen minute job.
