Anyone have any issue with DBA or Hawk ceramic pads? Just looking to keep the stock look with drilled rotors on my GS and a bit better longevity, don't really track.
Want to save money, but not buy stuff made in China.
I had Hawk pads a few years ago and they turned extremely noisy in a short period of time when they heated up so I trashed them. Switched to Carbotech and been happy ever since.
On my second set of DNA rotors and Hawks ceramics pads.
Went with slotted rotors with black hats on current set. 4000 series I believe. Sometimes get a little squeal out of the rear pads but other than that no problems at all.
I'm at 166,000 miles and changed rotors and pads before needed both times. Last change was for looks primarily.
On mine with Z51 size set up, first set of DBA 4K rotor with OEM ceramic, great set up without the factory brake noise, less dust and rotor finish was satin from OEM ceramic wear under low mileage.
Then, great deal @ 1/2 price - bought brand new two piece DBA 5K rotor from one forum member and brand new Hawk ceramic from another, coincidentally around the same time.
This was taken right after heat cycling in the recent past:
Great combination, hardly any dust, stops great, rotor has a near mirror polish from Hawk Ceramics with what little mileage I logged.
