Default Exhaust question/advise

I bought my 05 coupe last year, and when I bought it, it came with a MagnaFlow Street performance cat back exhaust on it. It sounded decent, but nothing to write home about. I then purchased a set of MagnaFlow 'shorty' headers ( not for performance, but for sound and a bit better exhaust flow). I am now thinking about the B&B PRT axle back system for a bit more aggresive sound when wanted, but not all the time. Does anyone know if the B&B's will bolt on to my existing M-F system?

I have had quite a few different exhaust combinations on my 07 Z. The MF exhaust you have now just bolts onto your stock crossover pipe and the B&B will do the same, so yes, they are all compatible unless someone has cut up the system for some unknown reason.

If you are looking for an on-demand system though, I assume you would want to use the B&B "Fusion" cat backs as they are 2-position for your typical "mild to wild" option. I would personally recommend you go with a moderate cat back like the PRT's and then just add a set of DMH electric cutouts for a real aggressive sound when wanted.

I'm currently running the DMH's and have played with different cat backs but I'm running twin turbos and the cats have been removed so that does affect the exhaust note a bit.

We haven't tried to connect other companies axle-backs to our catbacks, so we cannot confirm if this would be possible. If you were looking to get the same effect as running the BB system, you can have an exhaust shop delete your mufflers, which will end up being much cheaper!

Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, I am looking to keep the mufflers (for highway cruising withou any drone), but want to have the option of "bypassing" them when wanting a more aggressive sound (like the stock NPP system, or the B&B 'Fusion' system that has a vaccuum actuator). My thought was to keep the MF x-pipe & install an axle back bi-mode muffler system. My other thought is to install some electric cut-outs on the current system & not worry about putting new mufflers on at all.

Electronic cutouts that dump before the mufflers would do what you are looking for, and should be the less costly of the 2 options.

Something like this:

We actually sell the Y section for this type of application. The one that would match the piping of your street catback would be part #10784
