I have a set of ZR1 wheels on my 2006, ZO6 and I want to put a red curb protector around my wheels. Most of the ones I am finding for sale are a "peel and stick" trim ring that goes around the edge of the rim. I can't use any of these because the "spokes" on my wheels go all the way out to the edge which prevents me from going all the way around the rim on a flat surface.
I hope this makes sense. Can anyone recommend a good method to use for this type of trim? I have seen many wheels with this type of trim installed and it makes a set of dark colored wheels really "pop" with the red calipers in the background. I believe some of these trim pieces are actually installed when the tire is inflated and they are held in place by the tire bead when inflated but I am not sure if this is the right way to go or not. Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks,
G
