Quick question for you guys. Am I correct in assuming that my throttle body on my base 05 LS2 is 92mm? If so , how much will a 96mm help and will I have to do a tune if it is changed?

Yes 92mm. I have a stroked LS3 and went to 102 and it did not make much differnce.

I agree Larger T-bodies are rarely needed until you approach massive CI and HP
If anything get yours ported and it will make the throttle response better and add maybe 5-8 RWHP

Where are you at with your car? Are you stock? If so I would start with a set of headers and a tune. Do the free shroud-prop mod (search for it on here) so you don't have to spend money on a CAI, unless you want to, and then work your way up from there. I think they'll give you a better return on your investment and a noticeable increase in power. Personally I wouldn't be looking at a FAST or a ported/larger throttle body until I had these first.
If you look at dyno runs with people running larger FAST intakes----You will see that the HP and TQ gains are all over 6000 RPM's
It is my opinion that unless----You have larger that stock CI--or typically run your engine above 6400 RPM's there is no need for a larger manifold----A stock LS6 intake is plenty capable of handling 450 RWHP without sacrificing any bottom end as the larger manifolds do---- So depending on how you plan to drive your car would dictate whether or not you would benefit from one---
