I have spent hours researching different cams and the parts needed for installing through the forums, youtube and various websites. I have the general idea now but to finish it all off, I need some direct answers please.

I have 2006 Corvette C6 LS2 Z51 manual vert. It has 160tstat, full catless longtubes, callaway double d exhaust, and a varram gen 2 intake.

I was looking to upgrade the cam in order to attain a nice lope and gain some good horsepower, along with the intake. Im already set on a ported fast 102, they yield amazing gains over the horrible ls2 intakes. The big question is what cam to get...ironically I am trying to avoid too much lope and especially an idle shake. The car is a convertible and i've spent most of my modding in the interior with hundreds of dollars in leather and aluminum bits lol. I am trying to keep the car very classy, from what I see the corvette as. But, more hp is also very nice along with a cooler sound at WOT.

From what ive seen and read, the LG G6xe and G6x1 are 2 smaller cams that dont change idle much and give off great horsepower. Theres not much video or info on other smaller cams for an LS engine. What other cams fit my criteria or are in the same class as the G6xe and G6x1 cams? Is there a certain "spec" range of cam I should be looking for?

My goal is over 500hp at the crank, 420-430 at the wheels. I will easily exceed these numbers with a ported fast and a cam of this size correct?

 

I like the LG cams I have an ls6 and not an ls2 and am not as familiar with the g6 series but the g5 would work just as well in an ls2, I have run the g5x2 for the last couple years and just swapped it out for the g5x3, I had a similar setup as you, headers, vararam, fast 102 intake and made 433 rwhp, I would recommend the 114lsa since you do not want as rough of an idle, both mine are on 112lsa either of these cams would be a good choice

If you want the G6 you might just give them a call or email for more info and they can also cut the cam on any lsa you want
