Help my 2005 A/C compressor is on its way out! Should I remove belt because clutch still spins making grinding noise and metal shavings or another solution pulling a fuse! Thanks
Is the problem the compressor itself, or just the A/C clutch instead?
Granted that there is not a lot of room to work with, but you can remove the A/C clutch to repair/replace it, without having to pull the compressor from the motor instead.
Also, are you sure that its the compressor/clutch that is making the noise, and not just the AC belt tensioner pulley bearing grease-less isntead?

Clutch is making a grinding noise when engaging found metal shavings. All pulleys seemed to be fine and belts are new. I am sure clutch needs replacing, hate to replace the clutch and it end up being compressor problem. Thanks for your comments!
