Default Header install question

just picked up a used set of obx 1inch and 7/8 headers, and a 3 inch catted xpipe for 200.00. It came off a 08 base vette. I have a 13 grand sport. 2 questions..

1. It looks like there are adjustable pipes at the back of the xpipe that bolt up to the axleback. I am guessing this was a z06 system. Will I need to modify the back to get the right angle still, or can I just loosen those 2 back pipes and adjust accordingly?

2. I have the stock npp exhaust, which is 2.5. I love the sound, but will the 2.5 axle back rob a bunch of power?

3. Do most people with 3inch xpipes on the ls3 mod it to fit the stock npp or swap it out for z06/zr1 axlebacks??

O8 will not fit a 2013 , different angles so yes you will have to modify

If the car is stock, no cam , no blower then no the npp is not going to rob any power

What a steal on the headers, I'm jealous! Looking at buying a set of OBX for my ls3 car, $850 on ebay brand new. Still half the price of other systems but I'd love to scoop a used pair at a deal!

For my 2008, I just ordered a set of Hinson headers and an x pipe, all which are ceramic coated, delivered for a couple bucks under $800.

They will fit with minor adjustment to one side and 3 to 2.5 reducers.

Cutting and welding involve but not much and you'll be glad you got it done.

Well I installed the headers in my garage, and it went pretty smooth. They are used obx longtubes, and their 3 inch xpipe. No fitment issues. I am at the exhaust shop getting the xpipe modded to fit my npp. Toughest part was securing the O2 extensions so they were not on the headers. Had to remove the dry sump oil lines on the passenger side to get the header up. Might actually take them off from now on when I do my old changes. They hold about 1/2 a qt. overall I am very satisfied with the obx system.

Is that the correct location for the O2 sensors in the collectors?

Yep and I also installed my rear O2 sensors in the x pipe also , don't want any problems during the visual at inspection time

I was thinking of installing the rear o2's for inspection, but my inspection isn't due for another 3 yrs.

What a sound this car has now!! Can't wait to get it tuned. You can really hear the valves now through the headers. Guessing it's just because of the way the headers are routed down the tunnel.
