I have an 05 z51 I just bought few months ago. It's telling me to shift in reverse and lt already is. It will not start at all the battery is charged and all it does is click when u press the start button and the key fob only works to pop the trunk. Any ideas would be helpful thanks.

Battery or battery cables either positive or negative are not making good contact. Remove and clean them. It could also be the starter but sense you are having other electrical problems I would think battery or cables. Will it start with a jump?

Dallas -- your issue is your steering column lock has gone bad ( common issue in the 2005 C6) ... this is the same column lock that gave C5 owners fits.. and was eliminated in later models.
just got a call from the Dealer they told me it was the back up switch that has gone bad which my extended warranty should cover. guess we will see when they get it back together
Please keep us posted when all is solved, that way, someone with the same symptoms who uses Google Search and finds this thread will have something to work with!
just got a call from the dealer and the back up switch did the trick and it is fixed. so hopefully that solves my issues completely!!! will keep u all posted if any issues arise thank you all for all the advice it is much appreciated

Terrific news!
Stored in my memory banks in case my 05 ever gives me this trouble.
Thanks for closing the loop, THAT is very much appreciated by we fellow 05 owners!
