I know I am about to get a million different answers, but I am looking to add a set of headers to my 13 GS, and think I have narrowed it down to Kooks and ARH. Car currently has a Vararam CAI and Borla S-Type II. Anybody have a similar setup and recommend one brand over the other? Thanks

Greetings from the beach. I think there is very little difference between the two products in terms of power or quality. I had Virginia Speed (over by Oceana NAS on Taylor Farm Rd.) do Kooks on my car when they did my blower install, but I bet they can source either. I think they might even offer free install on exhaust products.
If you give them a shout (757) 468-5101 or just stop in, they will give you an informed opinion. They were really good to me and my corvette. Everytime I was in there they had three or four corvettes in for upgrades so stopping in might not be good for your wallet
My 65 year old wife and I installed a set of PFADT 1 3/4 on jack stands on my garage floor on a Sunday afternoon. Fit like a glove, love them. Hardest part was getting my arm up into the engine bay from below running the rear O2 sensors.
Choosing headers for your car can be a tough decision. You should always start by researching the right manufactures that offer the exact product you need to fit your application. For a Header and Exhaust Manufacturer to be the best they need to be able to make the most power consistently. They should also have the best built quality and fitment, while providing the best customer service and warranty. This is what Kooks Headers and Exhaust has done since 1962.
So look at the dyno numbers and time slips from shops all over the country. Look at install write ups and reviews on the forums for fitment and finish. Look closely at each Manufacturers product for quality materials and fabrication. Then finally compare all of these things, and ask a few more questions.
Do you want an exhaust system built by a company who has been doing this for 50 plus years and will be here for another 50?
Do you want an exhaust system from a company that taught the other companies how to build stainless steel headers?
Do you want the best performing, best fitting, best quality exhaust system for your car?
If you answered yes to these questions, you need to get Kookin’ with Kooks!
Either is a great choice. I bought a used pair of ARH 1-3/4 with catted x-pipe for a grand. Fit was absolutely perfect and leak free. Use GM gaskets and torque the bolts correctly and you shouldn't have any issues.
The shop that built my C6 recommended Kooks, so that's what I went with. The shop that built my truck recommended ARH, and I was all set to go with them until I found a great deal on a set of Kooks. So now I have 2 LS based builds with Kooks headers. If not for the price difference at the time, I would have an LS with Kooks and an LS with ARH and I have no doubt I would've been happy with both. In my opinion you can't make a wrong decision here. You could close your eyes and pick and you would have still made a good choice.
I've installed both brands on various cars and I prefer ARH. Both are great quality but ARH consistantly has a little better fit. I've never had to grind a piece of the car with ARH, cant say that about Kooks.
