C6 thump
I've got an unusual noise, sounds like I've run over something on the passenger side and it sounds like a thump under the passenger seat. About 5 min. later it does the same sound again and that's the end of it until the next time I drive. Always at steady speed and and never shure if it will happen. Just started this about 2 weeks ago, I drive the car daily.
It's a C6, roadster, power top, not Z51, 16K miles.
Hard driving does not make the noise.
Almost sounds like a can of paint rolling around in the trunk

could be a several different causes -- need to be more descriptive in when and how it occurs..
it could be loose lug nuts, bad wheel bearing, torque tube bearing, blown shock, bad end link ... just to name a few

Soft thump 10 min into the drive
Another soft thump about 5 miles later
All straight and level driving 45 mph
Does not make another sound until it sets a day or so
Then same again maybe
Does not always do it
Car is automatic 2007 soft top standard car with 16k miles
What about body pannel or mount
Just doesnt seam drivetrain sounding thump

It may take 10 minutes for your thermostat to open. That's your first noise.
After the 2nd noise, then it has to sit long enough to cool sufficiently for the thermostat to fully close.
Just thinking a bit out of the box.

You know i get some kind of sound almost similar to the crack sound thay the targa tops make, but on my driver side door panel sometimes. Like when im on reverse turning or getting down and away from the driveway to the street. I wonder what the hell it is.

Drove it twice about 75 miles and no thump, on the way to work this morning the standard thump followed by second thump about 20 seconds apart. Always in a straight line and less than 50 MPH
Also seams to move around, one time just forward of passenger seat and this time just aft the passenger seat.
Car doesn't do anything different and no feel in shifter when it thumps.
Sounds like something hitting the floorboard or fender well, not loud, just thump.
I sure this is not an item for the dealer as it won't perform on request.
