Anyone successfully using the Holley valve covers on a booster motor?

This thread is just silly. There is no problem with holley valve covers. There is problems with the setups on those cars having issues.

No baffles will cause issues. Holleys should have them. If not it is a defect.

Just had a valve cover off this morning so thought I'd post a pic. Holley with baffles and -10 fitting which is protected by the baffle so oil can't flow directly through it.

Procharger here. No oil consumption.

There are plenty of write ups on these valve covers not performing well. Most any experienced tuner will tell you not to use them. The baffles on the covers are inadequate compared to the ls3 valve covers.

YES!

page 3 of your holley valve cover instructions:

if you do not have this you will apply unregulated intake vacuum to your crankcase and surely see increased oil consumption and probably other issues.

class dismissed! haha.

That connection is blocked off on a c6 from the factory though, making me think that section of the directions wouldn't need to be followed on our cars.

I'm not using much oil at all with these valve covers, but Im' always interested in reducing it even farther, so if something should be rerouted I'll do it.

David,
After digging a bit I think the reason some guys are having, or had problems with the Holleys is because apparently the earlier ones they sold had no baffles. Put a -10 on top with no baffle and it will definitely draw a ton of oil through it.

steps 183 and 192 gentlemen

http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive/.../1000/1590.pdf

stock valley removed non-ported valley replaced. e-brock relocates this to the available driver port
BUT the excessive oil consumption comes from the mash-up of aftermarket parts and the lack of a pcv orifice (present in stock v/c and not in the holley)

Long time no update - I went with the LS9 valve covers - installed them along with an Elite Catch can.

I ran the Drivers side vent port > Catch can Intake port > Catch Can Exit Port > PCV port under the blower snout after the TB.

I went on a 30 mile drive - and I filled up the catch can.

I had ordered that PCV valve that was in the Holley instructions. That finally came in and decided to put it in.

Drivers side vent port > Beck / Amley 0450299 PCV Valve > Catch can Intake port > Catch Can Exit Port > PCV port under the blower snout after the TB.

I went on that same 30 mile drive - and checked the can and there was barely anything in it.

So I think adding the Catch Can - and adding that inline PCV valve resolved my oiling issue. Also - there is no more smoke show on cold start ups.

Could have I kept the Holleys with the E-Force - and added the Catch can and the PCV valve? Perhaps - but I have not seen anyone successfully run those with this blower.

I took mine off - sent them back to Summit - and replaced them with the LS9's for not much more money.

I did have to buy an LSA oil filler neck for the oil cap to work. GM PN 12609623.

Here are a few pics before I cleaned up the PCV hoses...

I also ordered these 90* fittings from Edelbrock to clean up the PCV hoses some more - they snap right onto the LS9 covers.
