Default Battery relocation...what's needed?

Looking to relocate battery to the back cubby hole.....what parts are needed (ie: battery tray, tie downs, ect)? How/where are people running the cables?

I don't have any pics, but will try and explain what I did from memory. Its been a while...LOL
No battery tray.. used a standard type of hold down which has a bar across the top and those J hook type hold downs. I made holes in the cubby compartment and hooked the J hook in those. Works perfectly.
I used Accel lightweight battery cable and ran it through the rocker. Its been years and I have never had an issue related to that install.

Interested in doing this also.. Not getting to hijack here but I have 1 question.

Did or should you run positive cable from battery to starter and from starter to fuse block or battery to fuse block then to starter? Or does it matter?

Been so long I don't remember but I'm pretty sure battery to starter makes more sense. I will take a look tomorrow and report back.

Positive cable from the battery to the starter.

Negative cable from the battery to the engine block just above the starter.

Altintor red wire stays the same to the starter.

And take the time to pull the carpet out of the cubby hole you are installing the battery in.

Lastly, if you have a early model C6, then the VCIM will be in the cubby hole behind the carpet. So just move it to the side like in the above video.

As for battery, may as well save some weight and install a DEKA ETX18L.

Note, since you are installing a ETX18l, just put the correct ends on the battery wires to bolt to it directly instead.

Good directions
Pretty much dead on description of mine. Only thing I did different was go battery to frame in the rear, and then frame to block in front. Either way will work fine.

Ran cable to frame in wheel well area....... in front of cubby compartment. ....drill a hole and make sure the paint is cleaned off around it. Simple to do.

Whatever battery you decide to put back there, make sure you vent it outside the car. If the battery ever overcharges, you can have an explosion inside the car.

Trust me, it happens and it is ugly.

Yes.. good reminder. I made multiple holes in the compartment to make sure there is adequate venting.
