Yesterday I had to use the lever inside the car to get out. Now I have to open the door using the pull inside the hatch to get in. Any suggestions? This is a 2009.
I've had two problems on mine. Contacts on the buttons stop working very well--in which case either replace with new or clean the old.
Then the other time the latch itself messed up on mine. It would open with the manual methods but not with the buttons. Replaced it for a new one and no problems since.

Are you talking about replacing the latch or button assembly?

OK if I Am understanding you correctly, you are having trouble getting into your corvette when you try to operate the touch pad?
here is what you do -- swap it first with the passenger side and see if it makes a difference... if it does, your touch pad is either dirty or needs to be replaced. Here is a video showing dirty touch pad.
I would think it was something more then just the pad or inside button, since the problem is both getting "in and out" of the car. Like mentioned above, the latch mechanism would be more likely...WW

Had the same problem with mine. Cleaned the outside door pad and seems to have fixed it. Only time will tell. I do know that it couldn't have hurt anything given how black and nasty the contacts were inside the pad. They are supposed to be copper but were as black as the plastic itself.
Thanks to all of you who responded. After cleaning connection, still didn't work so I figured it was the latch. Any parts guys out there know where I can get a latch, besides Chevrolet. They are very expensive.
FYI, it it turns out to be the door latch that is the problem, before you buy a new one, pull the old one apart to clean and lube it.
Hell, just pick up a can of WD-40 silicone to spray into it to blow some of the dried grease and crud away that may be causing to to bind up to start with.
If this does not solve the problem, then you may have to pull it from the car, apart to give it a better cleaning and relubing instead.
Push comes to shove, and it is the motor in the latch that is worn out (its bushing worn out), the motor is just a 12V hobby motor that you can replace in the latch for less than $10.
I cleaned my with brake cleaner (On The Car) then blew it out with air then put some of the GM lube on the parts needed and it has had no problems ever since...

If neither the inside button or the outside pad work, then it is most likely the latch. On my car it was the latch. However, cleaning it first is probably the way to go - it is almost no effort.
To all of you who gave me an abundance of ideas, I thank you so much. After doing most of your ideas myself, I decided to let the dealer check it out in case it was something computer related. Sure enough, that is what was wrong. They said that was very rare. Thanks again for all your help.
