Default C6 Radiator Compatibility?

Hi,

Needing to order a new radiator. Currently putting a lot of maintenance into the vehicle so I'm looking at replacing the current leaking one with a stock used one. I have an 05 Z51 M6 so the radiator has the engine oil coolers built into it. I'm looking at one from an 07 Z06 that looks like it has the coolers, and looks similar size. Does anyone know for sure if it would work in mine? The Z06's part number is 10353890, mine is 10353889.

unless the 05 is different than an 08 z51, mine only had a cooler for the manual transmission lines built in. it had a separate cooler for engine oil and separate cooler for power steering.

05 Z51 manuals have transmission oil and engine oil coolers built into the radiator. I believe the later models they dropped it down to only one cooler in the radiator instead of 2

Make sure the one you're wanting to install has both coolers if you want something that will just drop in

Z06 radiator will work if you add the separate Z06 oil cooler.

Where are you located? Nothing in a profile.
I have 2 with coolers I'd be happy to get out of the garage with local pickup.

Bad move on a used one, since the problem is the side pieces are plastic, age over time, and what causes the problem in the first place when the plastic either cracks, or the seals under the plastic ends got old and don't seal any more.

So if your going to go with a OEM style, get a new one, since the problem is the age of the plastic that causes the problem in the first place.

So from Walmart for the 05 z51, ACDelco 21539 with both coolers on the sides, for $383.94 brand new.

http://www.walmart.com/ip/46949062?w...487888&veh=sem

If you want the RADIATOR - GM (10353889), then here for $398 instead.

http://www.cheapestgmparts.com/oe-gm...FRCRaQodaeACCA

If you want to take HOXXOH up on his offer, to install a air cool cooler up front in the noise, and use a single side cooler radiator, then the after market side side cooler can be had for around $125 isntead.

Hence on the later z51 cars, they put a small cooler in front of the radiator in the nose of the car, instead of putting it as part of the side end cap of the radiator isntead.

If you have to go through all the work of R&Ring a radiator, I would buy the best. A&A Superchargers will not even consider installing a supercharger on a Z06 without replacing the radiator with a DeWitt's dual core all aluminum radiator, just my opinion.

Good luck
