Figured I would give it a shot and I have attempted to install a used Pioneer AVH4000 head unit. I have wired everything up to what I believe it should be but nothing works. The chimes work but no head unit. Take a look at the pictures below and maybe you can see what I may be doing wrong. The only wires not hooked up on the RP3 GM11 are the purple/white, orange and RCA cables.
The purple/white is supposed to be the vehicle speed wire which I don't believe I have or need. The orange isn't listed..? The Rca cables I think I need to cut and wire to pioneer harness.
Let me mention that it is a 2006 Base with Bose but no Nav or Steering wheel controls.
Try running a dedicated power line from the battery to the 12v (should be yellow or red wire). I've run into this before with different vehicles and head units where for some reason the constant 12v in the wiring harness doesn't supply power for some reason. Also check your 12v trigger wire and ground. And you do have a vehicle speed sensor and you will need to hook up those wires to the appropriate wires on your car in order for some features to work or do what I do and bypass the nannies and use this http://www.sonicelectronix.com/lp/pla-video-accessories-installation/201314bypass?utm_source=google&utm_mediu m=cpc&utm_campaign=PLA&affiliate=googpla &scid=scplp7723072&gclid=CjwKEAjwyPW5BRC C3JaM7qfW_FwSJACM3jz9NUpccFFdsbBDvjy8b2b Edv3YGIn-bGxSJGxD7u0eXhoC5Bfw_wcB .

Looks like nothing happens when I ran power to the yellow and red wires and grounded the black. Fuse is in good shape.
This thing a piece of junk now? lol
Any possibility there is something I am missing and/or is it possible to have it looked at and fixed?
Not sure if wiring / colors are different than on the 4100NEX, but the purple/white is your backup wire (for wiring up a backup camera to power on when you put car in reverse - typically gets wired to the positive wire of a reverse light, run a wire the length of the car).
Hope you got this figured out at the audio shop. I didn't want to deal with the headache you have so I had a shop solder the wires to a harness adapter for $40 then physically installed everything plug and play myself.
The colours are the same. Dropped it off today but the shop was a little busy so I might have to wait a bit. I am hoping I get an answer tomorrow but the head definitely has a problem.
When you disconnect the stock head unit you remove two plugs. Does the grey plug not get used and is it just tucked away?

Yes, there was a smaller gray plug from the car harness that didn't get used. Not sure what it's for. Maybe stock nav and / or sat radio.
