So before people talk about Corsas and other catback systems, I've looked for about couple months now, and they are too expensive for me whether they are new or used.
I've always heard good things about spintechs from my Fbody days, and wanted to see if I can get some info on them.
Do we have any Vendors on the forum who sell them? or do you need to get them directly from Spintech?
Any idea how much welding is needed? anyone want to suggest a welding/muffler shops around ATL that I can trust?
Haven't heard the name Spintech in a loong time! I had their catback on my 06 GTO and loved them.
I don't think they make a cat back system for the C6 corvette, i believe you'd have to weld the mufflers into a stock system. Searching on here that is all i've seen. I agree the Corsas are very expensive for just the sound and tips.
although they don't make the catback system for C6, I've seen some people with spintech mufflers. I'm assuming that they are welding it on to our stock pipes.
Just wanted to check to see what all is involved before I pull the trigger

and you didn't ask those people? what do you think would be involved to weld them on?
I had the Spintech Side Exit on my 98 Cobra. People kept telling me my car sounded pissed off. Loved that exhaust!
Interesting fact: I back-to-back dyno'd the Spintech cat back (where gas does a 180* turn inside the muff to go out the side) against a Magnaflow straight through cat back system & the HP #'s were virtually identical.
The reason that the Borla and Corsa systems are so expensive, is that they do not Drone!!!!!
So yes, you may be able to go low budet, but when the system drones worse than a rice burner car and you end up ripping the system out in a week instead, the cost of the more expensive system to start with, ends up being cheaper than the 2 to 3 cheap systems you end up ripping out instead.
So before you install anything, make sure that is not going to Drone on you. Hell the NPP system drones with the gates left open, but at least with it, you can close the gates when cruising to stop the drone instead.

Thanks in advance for your support!
Theyre mufflers; if they can be made to fit, and they flow appropriately and deaden the sound to your requirement, thenthere is no issue. FWIW my neighbor runs spintech mufflers on his firebird and they sound fantastic
If you need an inexpensive muffler, dynomax is another option. Some of my buddies have this muffler and it sounds good. I can say that dynomax has a nice rumble. There's some resonance but not really bad.
