I drive a 2007 c6corvette bone stock,
I've rescently had issues with the battery volt dropping while idling the car but when I checked at a local garage, they said both my alternator n batteries r fine n it's something else, I also had a bad start at times
But today morning when I started the car the speedo was workin but the rpm was fully dead
The oil pressure hardly reached 300 and slightly above 300 on high revs and it was a v stressed start( knocked a bit n then started)
I tried turning it off n then on but the same hing happened
It was very hard to start, my rpm is still dead, steerings a bit more stiffer, the car sounds totally different as if the tunes changed, and there's a heavy vibration on high revs while driving it
The orange check engine light has popped up too
Guys, any suggestions?
Until you know what's really wrong, messing around & testing this or that may lead to damage. As others have posted....READ THE CODES! If you don't have an OBM code reader, stop by any auto parts store.....Advance Auto, PEP Boys, NAPA, etc.....they'll read the codes at no cost. Once you know the error messages, you can intelligently pursue the fixes.
If there's engine light then read the codes... that's an easy place to start
What spark plugs are you running? Sounds like a dumb question but people have had issues with NGK's plugs and alternator output being going all over the place.. presumably some kind of interference, I don't know.. but it happened to mine. TR6's specifically.
Get under the car (safely) and wiggle the thick battery cable going to the starter, if it's loose come back and let us know. Oh yea have the codes read. If you're going to drive a Corvette do yourself a favor..... get a code reader.
