Oil Filter Question
My 2008 LS3 I use a Mobil1 M1-113
My 1998 LS1 I use a Mobil1 M1-107
from the Mobil1 web site:
M1-107 - GM Products (1996-12)
M1-113 - Chevrolet Camaro (2014), Corvette (2006-13) (GM12626224)
The only difference between the two is the 113 has a little basket type of devise in the bottom. What is this for and can I just buy one filter to us on both cars?

That is the internal bypass valve that was added by GM in 2006 for LS7 and 2007 for LS2 and all LS3. Prior to 2007, the LS2 had the bypass in the block.

And additionally, GM changed the mounting thread pitch to ensure the filters are not interchangeable!!!
