I had one develop a hole a few years ago. We replaced it with an aftermarket silicone boot which they install with a special tool that expands it enough to fit over the joint without taking it apart. Haven't had an issue since so I guess they are good replacements. I would assume to install a stock one the joint would have to come apart.
It's rare that someone starts a post now a days with a problems and comes back with a WORKING solution or update!
The CV boot was a VERY simply project, removing entire CV took me just under 15 min, disassemble CV took 5 min, new boots installed in under 10 min " cleaning all the grease was the most time consuming portion " reinstall in 20 min and were good to go again!
If anyone has questions I'll gladly walk you through what I did.
Remove CV ( directions are all over the place )
Cut the metal ties off the boot, be prepared to clean a mess!
CV pulls apart once boot is off, simply reinstall new book after removing snap ring, pour the grease into the CV and apply boot back!

Have yet to find them! Axles sitting here on my table till tomorrow when I can make calls! Bound to find a set! Super glue and duct tape here we come!
06-07 axles are the weakest axles made and snap easily. Best of luck, but money should have been spent on swapping to a stronger axle if you had to replace a boot or axle.
