Default Traction problem 08 super charger...

I have 08 corvette with headers and edelbrock super charger , no cam. Rest of car is stock. Dino at 520 hp at the wheels. Took car to track and had to use traction control to take off when car shifted into second wheel spin like on ice. Car has stock 19" wheels with Michelin tires... Will drag radials fix this , which ones do I buy, and which ones work best with out heating them up... Thanks any help apreciated..

I have plenty of traction problems in my 09 all-motor LS3 that makes 540 rwhp. Even on my drag radials. If that makes you feel better.

No it doesn't , just not wanting to waste money on rear wheels if I will have same problem, then would wonder if I bought wrong tires... Thanks again for input...

I've just learned to be a better driver and ease into the throttle. If I give it full gas I can spin the tires in third on DRs sometimes. Mine are only 555R's though, they make stickier tires for sure.

8.54,8.47. 1/8 mile 89-92 mph. Blew the tires of when shifted into second auto left in drive with traction control left on..

Your choices are:

1. Install street drag radials and be very cautious on of wet roads.

2. Install the widest stickiest street tires and use your foot to manage
the power.

I too have S/C 08 but with an A&A Centri kit. I installed wider rims to accommodate Michelin Super Sport 265/35/18 fr. and 305/30/19 rr. tires. Traction improved, but I still have to manage traction with my foot. Also, a Centri S/C is a bit more manageable at lower rpm.

Like was said drag radials but no going over 35mph in the rain

Nittos nto5r are great is what I use 560 na whp then install delrin rear lower control arm bushings to take off rubber bushing diflection.

Thanks for info, did not even think about wider tires..when drag racing is it best to take of with traction control on and in drive...

first is it a stick or auto car? i make north of 750 whp and i am just running a hoosire drag radels and i had no issuses with hooking on the track or the streets being a stick car .iv turned off all my traction functions in the ecm to avoid it coming on an slowing the car down

For your power level just get some NT05rs if you want to keep your stock 19s on. They will hook at most speeds and have mild driving manners.

Car is auto . Tires on it now are like new Michelin run flats..

Yea those are junk tires .with a auto you could get away with like a r888 or something along those lines .

Tighter rear diff lock, stickier/ wider tires, throttle control. Those are really your options.

I have 345 width R888s with only 505 rwhp NA and I can destroy tires on the street at will, but I have learned to manage it quite well.
