First a little history.....Cutouts were installed along with headers and cam in November 2014. They were wired in with a manual switch and worked brilliantly. A couple of months later, the manual switch was swapped out for remotes. Again, the cutouts worked brilliantly. Fast forward a couple of months, the cutouts now only work for a brief period of time when the engine is cold....maybe 10 minutes after startup. At that point, they will stop working in whatever position they happen to be in. I contact QTP and they send me a new remote module and 2 new remote fobs. After installation, there is no change. cutouts work fine when all is cold, but stop working once things heat up. I then remove the remote module and reinstall the manual switch. All is good following this...cutouts work flawlessly. This lasts several more months. Just last weekend, the issue came back....cutouts will only work when all is cold, but stop working (in whatever position they are in) when things heat up. Any ideas?
When the cutouts fail, jack the car up and see if voltage is getting to the cutouts when the switch is operated. I suspect the cutout motors may be seeing too much heat and are intermittent. If you don't have power then suspect switch or your power source.
Loved my DMH cutouts on my C6, I had one of them fail. Replaced it and never had problems again.
