Dyno numbers def don't mean really anything anymore. There is to many things that come into factor now. for instance
1) Temperature
2) Humidity
3) DynoJet, Mustang dyno, Dyno Dynamics all read completely different numbers. Mustang Dynos usually read a lot lower than either a Dyno Dynamics Dyno and the most popular dyno, a DynoJet.
4) What all mods have been done and does the OTS tune make big power or should you have your car Professionally dyno'ed by a well named shop...(preferably around your area but I know people that will send their car to another state to have the right person dial the car in! test/tune/and extracting the most possible power while keeping driveability like or as close to the way a "stock" corvette drives.
5) the DA at your location.
Man the list could go on and on and on...So unless people want to list their mods and how they made that power then posting up random pieces of paper saying there stock LS3 motor that's FBO made 580whp lol...? RIGHT....Look at the graph I think right above what I'm posting. 14xx lb ft of torque lol...I know that's a mistake...I think...
That was cuz of the voltage spikes from my plug wires, you can see that in the graph. Max torque is 433ft/lbs which you can see in the first chart. BTW, mods are ECU tune, cam, and LG-PRO-C6 exhaust. Very basic stuff to pull that much power, The LS3 engines are amazing. The engine is only naturally aspirated. I did this pull in Colorado, temp was high 90's that day at high elevation. Any other questions boostaholic?
What I get a kick out of is people claiming "600HP" when in reality...to the flywheel. From the wheels through trans and drive train on a dyno is where your numbers are VALID. Elevation plays a big factor as well, if i ran the same test at sea level my dyno pull would be even higher. Running her at CNS elimination circle drags tomorrow, we will see what happens.
I was talking dyno numbers, not cubic inch motor size.
My 394 dyno HP LS3 (right lane) vs a 800+ dyno HP LS9 ZR1 (left lane)
I got there first. It's not how much you have, it's how you use it.
So on Sunday, post up your best timeslip from Saturday night.
Never understood why people would brag about 'got there first' when the mph is beyond comparison. You cut a great 60' obviously on a proper wheel setup, while the ZR1 cut a normal 60' most likely on a stock tire (and didn't wanna break his $hit).
140mph to 125mph..... he's is still wayyyyy faster however you wanna slice it. The dragstrip isn't where we drive 99.9% of the time.

Drag racing is all about getting from point A to point B "quicker". Faster speed at the end is meaningless.
BTW, the ZR1 had DR's, cam, tune, and ran a 10.007 @ 145.66 with a 1.719 60' on his next pass against my friend. Then I went 10.939 @ 125.35 with a 1.484 60' against my friend. My statement was "It's not how much you have, it's how you use it." The point is both me and my friend are consistent (he ran 11.111 and 11.127), where the ZR1 driver wasn't. He had way more power, but didn't always use it well.
