I have a 2005 base model corvette LS2. Sometimes it starts and sometimes it wont. When it doesn't start I can go and disconnect the negative battery cable, wait a few seconds, then reconnect it. When I get back in to start it, it cranks right up. Any ideas?
What happens when you hit the start button? Turns over but doesn't start or lights go dim and it just clicks or what?
"Doesn't start" doesn't give us much to go on.
My first out of the blue guess would be battery cables. I used to have to twist the battery cable ends around on mine to get it to start sometimes. I chopped the ends off and replaced them with aftermarket cable ends and it's never had a problem since. The GM ones are very flimsy, even when brand new.. after 10 years, mine were nearly disintegrated

When I hit the button it sometimes makes the noise of the starter buzzing to turn it over and other times it doesn't do anything as if the battery were dead. It is a 6 speed manual.
I have ran into this issue under 2 situations:
1) Bad column lock. After I would disconnect the battery cable, poof, it would start
2) Bad battery connection

the negative battery cable is grounded to the block close to the starter. put a wrench on it to make sure it's tight.
if this is not the problem since you are already under there...pull the starter.

Sorry to say I don't think you ever changed starter in C6, cause you need to drop the exhaust to get to the starter, not a easy replacement.

I have removed it twice. once when I was installing my long tubes and once since they were installed.
