Default Trans is wet...any ideas why?

Hey guys just jacked up the back of my car to put a Corsa catback on and noticed the transmission is wet. It's near the drain plug. The car doesn't leak anything on the ground at all. I'll try and attach a pic. Is this something I should be concerned about? Is it a common issue? Could it be anything else other than the drain plug?

My car had a similar look and all it was is a buildup of road grime coming from the front of the car. If you look, the spot that is blocked by the case, and before the plug doesn't have an oil/grime look and the spot in front of that area does. I cleaned mine and it never returned. That was about 8 years ago.

Hittinboost, to me it looks to me like that drain plug has a slight drip. The above suggestion of cleaning that area is a good one also but it might the trans and diff gasket/sealing point too?

Spray it with some 409 to clean it off and then monitor it to see where it's coming from. As long as it's just sweating and not dripping though, not a huge deal.

Well you could just clean it and monitor.

Or
Remove/ check torque that plug
Check fluid level.
"Button it up" and monitor.

I believe there are only a few areas the diff will leak it:
The fill and the drain plugs.
Vent on top of the diff.
Side casing/ transaxle O-rings.

Hope that gives you some options.

Degrease the long neglected mess then monitor/check both your top trans/diff vent breather line....then take it from there...start with the mess....
