hey lads, so recently my gauge cluster and my HUD started intermittently working and not working, fuses look good, swapped anyway.

would work, then shut off while driving, .. started car, drove 30min then would work... now nothing at all. any suggestions?

Pull the cluster and make sure that the connectors are plugged all the way in.

If they are, then make sure that the ground wire off the connector has a good connection to ground.

If the connectors and ground wires off the connector is good, then suspect a cold solder joint on the cluster board that needs to be re soldered if it was just the gauge cluster alone that had the problem

But with both the cluster and Hud glitching at the same time, would suspect either a bad ground or bad positive wire since they both use the same sources.

#4 G201 is the grounding point for the two and is at the bottom of the A-pillar left hand side.

The fuse for both is the third one up on the left on the BCM, and is labeled clstr/hud.

As for checking the cluster connector, your looking for 12 volts on pin 1 to pin 3.

Hence would start with pin one with the mulitimeter set to continuity, and see if you have a good ground from the connector, to a ground on the car. If the ground is good, then pin 1 and pin 3 with the multi meter set to DC, and make sure you have 12 volts.

Lastly, when you are down at the BCM, make sure that the main blue connector is fully plugged in, hence it has some slack so someone pushing hard down in the passanger side with their feet, is not causing the blue connector to come loose from the BCM or the upper BCM blue connector coming loose isntead.

Hence if the BCM fuse is good for the hud and cluster, and you don't have power up at the dash connector, may have to pull both blue connectors, hit them and the BCM socket pins with electrical cleaner, and them reconnect them. To remove the blue connectors after you have disconnected the positive battery cable, you have to unclip the gray handle from is lock, cam it all the way up and back, and this will unlock the plugs so you can lift them straight up and off. If they don't want to come straight up and off, don't pull on the wires.. Just work the lock cams a few times to get them as far back so they unlock from the socket connectors.

Note, if you have a problem with the BCM connector, chances are it the top left hand one.

Hence may have had the A/C box drain hose become clogged, and instead of the water in the A/C box draining correctly out the drain hose, it ended up backing up in the box to drain down on the BCM and connector isntead.
If it looks like you have water damage to the BCM, then that is a whole different write up on how to pull it, put it apart and start to clean that mess up; including tracing the board for any water damage problem at the traces or solder joint (and pray like hell that the water did not take out one of the chips instead).
