Default base c6 - seat upgrade options

Did a search, but didn't get the exact answer I was looking for...

Basically, I have a 1LT base coupe and was curious what are my options on getting a bit more firmness/comfort from a seat upgrade perspective. Used to have a 3LT w/ Z51 and seats there (power) were much-much better compared to what I have right now in the 1LT.

I guess aftermarket seats are one option to go with.
What about keeping in the family and getting seats from higher LT packages, GS or Z06?

1. Would these be completely interchangeable? E.g. would Z06 seats fit directly into the base model?

2. What about the wiring? Would the 1LT easily take in the higher LT seat options? (Guessing door panels would need to be upgraded with controls as well...)

Thank you in advance for all and any feedback!

I could be wrong but don't think there is any difference in the seat from a 1 LT to a 3 LT other than the power options until you get to 2012 when the seat design was changed

As far as the power options , Power forward and aft you can add easly to the passenger seat but adding the lumbar, heat and memory options are a lot harder than just plugging in controls etc

I did the power seat conversion on my passenger side 1LT , the power seat motor was a breeze to hook up........

I bought Recardo seats, but I got tired of climbing in and out, so they stayed insatlled for 1 day. I had mine upgraded by having sead covers made using 3 LT foam and just filled in the part where the side airbag was with foam. The centers are suede and the rest is all leather.

Did the door panels the same way. The part above the armrest that is at a rounded angle is suede and the rest is leather.

THis was taken before the doors panels were installed.

Not that it really matters, but the base seats are not perforated.

Plus the backs take different foam and the insert on the 3LT seats comes out, it does not on the 1LT, trust me, for what I went through, I wish i bought the upgrade when I ordered the car. The issue I had, is that I only buy cars I can write a check for and the extra couple thousand wasn't in the budget.

Adding the heads up was far easier that redoing the seats.

Thanks folks!

My biggest frustration is the lack of firmness... even in the 3LT seats I felt much more stable... whether that was just virtual, biased impression...

I'm not as sensitive to the full set of options for the seats and wiring and door panels (which i didn't think of up front) are sort of raising doubts in my mind as far as worth while...

I might just go with a single driver aftermarket seat like Recaro. To install those, i need just the mount adjusters, right? And what about back and forth movement? is that option still left in place at a minimum?

If you need the Profi XL, you will need to build brackets, fitment is a challenge. If you can use the narrow seat, you can use one of the many universal corvette seat mounts.

Thanks!

Last stupid question - will i keep the power back-and-forth adjustment option? or are these fit in place w/o movement?

Everything becomes mechanical and you will need SIMS to stop dash lights from coming on.

Look to recyclers for used 2/3LT seats from any year C6. You also might place a wanted ad in the C6 Parts forum. They all have the same bolt pattern and the basic seat is unchanged. If comfort and firmness are your primary concerns, then don't bother trying to make the memory functions or the airbags workable.
