Default Headers vs High Flow Cats

I have a 2006, ZO6, with 32,000 miles on it. I am installing a CAI and I have Akrapovic axle back exhaust. I had planned on installing headers and a new X pipe but I have been doing research and I have found a few things out so now I have questions. I have been told that the ZO6 stock X pipe is as good as any aftermarket X pipe so I was just going to install B&B headers to my stock X Pipe. Now I am being told to just remove the stock cats and replace them with high flow cats and I will get the same results. Can anyone provide me with solid advice and recommendations please.
Thanks,
G

Z06 cats aren't a major restriction, I wouldn't waste the money on high flow cats.

If you install long tubes the factory cats are going to be gone regardless. They are bolted right to the factory (short) manifolds, so they have to be removed for long tubes

So unless you're talking about another set of cats in the factory X (or H more than likely on that year) pipe then using the factory cats or not is a moot point because they'll be removed regardless.

Unless you're not running long tubes--in which case I wouldn't even bother touching it. Does B&B make shorty headers?
