2011 corvette convertible 4LT
My wife and I are looking at a 2011 4LT convertible. I`m curious about the Factory Alarm / Theft Deterrent System in the vette. Can anyone please speak up about the protection and function of the alarm? Is there any difference between the 2LT and the 4LT? Should we go aftermarket?

The "alarm" is simply honking of the horn if the doors or the trunk are opened by any other means than by being opened by the car's computer. There is no motion or intrusion alarm etc. There is no difference in this behavior on any C6 from 2005 thru 2013. The Vette is not a highly stolen car, in fact it is near the bottom of the list, so unless you are in a very bad area, an aftermarket alarm isn't really necessary, but if you want those other features, it is the only alternative. 4LT refers to the extra leather in the interior.
