Default Manifold Studs - Loctite? AntiSieze?

Hey all-
Putting some headers on my 08 and have a set of manifold studs from ARP to replace the manifold bolts to hopefully avoid breaking steel bolts off in aluminum heads. I've never put a set of studs on in my previous cars so a few questions if you have:
  • Did you use loctite or antisieze at all? Seems like loctite could be desired to make sure the stud doesn't back out of the head when removing the nut but reemoving thee stud could be a *#%$*#..
  • can you put all the studs in and hang the haders on them without fitment isues? (is there enough space to rotate the headers away from the block to get them over the studs?)

Any insights would be appreciated!

I have header studs (not ARP), I installed them dry. I haven't experienced any fitment issues.

http://www.stage8.com/ ......and antisieze the way for me.

As an aside: leave headers (loose) till you connect X pipe too them.

Antisieze for sure. It's the two different types of metal thing and the heat.
Also tq is 18.
I always use the ss bolts with the notched washers. They will not back out.
I just can't think of the name for you though.
The big issue always seems to be where the mid pipe and the exhaust system meet.
Headers go up into car.
Good luck.

This was my biggest thought, though the stock bolts came out fine of course.

Thanks everyone for the input.

Thanks man wasn't sure if there would be a problem putting studs in and hanging them on the studs so I appreciate the note that you didn't have any problem doing so.

I agree ,also make sure you start all the bolts also and if it even slightly feels like it's cross threading ... stop

I started at the front and got them all in but the last one , must have been the angle .... was afraid to strip or pull a thread

I ended up starting the middle bolts first then working my way out to each end and they went in fine

Good luck you will love the headers

I've done numerous headers swaps for testing and had the headers pulled numerous times for other needs and have never used anything. Stock bolts bone dry, tightened hand tight as mentioned then tq down.

I used my Arp header studs dry on both ends. Had the headers disconnected at least 5 times with no problems. I never pull the studs out of the head though so take that into consideration. I torque the nuts to 20 ft-lbs and none have ever loosened on me.
