I've been researching catch cans for the last 3 days and just can't figure out what I'm missing. I understand the keeping oil out of the intake and the dirty and clean side oil and what not. I'm looking at getting an rx catch can kit. What I'm wondering is the oil that's not going into the intake and is staying in the catch can should not make me use more oil and need to worry about running low? Does anyone else have this rx catch can kit? Also wondering how easy the install is and if I have to drill or cut anything to make it work? Not trying to mess with the OEM stuff too much. I have a 2007 corvette base ls2 with 10k miles on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance
I moved my Elite Engineering E2 oil catch can from my 1999 to my 2009 with 15K. Very easy to install. Had to remove air intake baffle. There was oil sitting in the intake manifold prior to installation and now it is dry. This only removes oil and moisture from the "dirty" side PCV system. After 1,000 miles, there was approximately 1/2" of oil in bottom of catch can. The EE E2 is a good quality catch can and it works.
Just for reference in making a decision, I'm at 139K miles, quickest LS3 bolton on the forum and never used a catch can, nor a quart of oil between changes.

I believe they make a clean side separator as well from what I found
what your missing is... you really don't need one the guys with oil in the manifold are those cowboys that love to drive around in 2-3 gear with the RPM's wrapped all the way up and then take their foot of the gas and let it decelerate because they think that it sounds cool. Me 2006 LS2 MN6 80,000 miles, tracked every so often manifold? BONE DRY! I have a brand new CC if you would like to by it.

Im hearing mixed reviews about that as well. Some people say it's a must have and others say it's a waste of money
