Yesterday at 11:00 a.m i turned my car on to leave for lunch break and suddenly 2 alarms flash on "Traction control light" & "ABS light" both are now illuminated. First i turned it off and did a 360 and didn't visually see anything, no low fluids, nothing. Drove my car and it felt perfect as if nothing was wrong.
But still worried about those two bright *** lights, i took it to the dealership to have them diagnose a problem and they said there were multiple codes pulled but 2 active codes. Mechanic claimed that one of the relay's within the EBCM is faulty and triggering both lights to come on because of the loss of communication. Also now a check engine light just came on after starting the car at the dealership which they claim is another issue.
Driving to the dealership i felt no difference in the car. And my question to you guys is should i spend that INSANE hefty tag of $1875.00 to have them replace my module with a warranty. OR should i buy a used one and put it in myself? AND is it alright for me to drive without the aid of ABS and Traction control.
First things first....very often strange bugs in the electronic systems are caused by a bad or weak battery or even bad battery connections. Start by disconnecting the battery connections (positive & negative) at both the battery & at the starter & chassis ground. Clean & reconnect & then recheck the systems. If you're still getting codes, have the battery checked at any local auto parts store. If all that checks good & you're still getting trouble codes, then indeed, you may have a bad module.

ok will definitely check. also if i take it too a autoparts store how will they know its gone bad? what will display on the multimeter or battery checker?
BUT GET THIS : After picking it up from the dealership and driving home i stopped for food. Then turned the car on again and ALL LIGHTS WERE NO LONGER illuminated.. AS if god himself stepped down and fixed it. I was driving normal highway speeds to the restaurant and regular bumps ups and downs on highway.
Go to church this Sunday and say Thank you...You may also want to pull the 2 blue connectors off the BCM and spray some electrical cleaner on the connections. The connections on these have been known to have problems sometimes...WW

Where do I find these connectors? Some threads say its by the brake pedal, some say in the passenger, some say directly on the EBCM? Just want to clean these 2 blue connectors but I cant find the specific info I'm looking for. Thanks!!

Under the passenger floor mat/up by the firewall. Reach all the way back, pull back on the carpet towards the seat and you’ll see the connector. Be careful not to unplug the flux capacitor relay
