If you're not using sticky tires, which it doesnt looks like, the torque multiplication the gear change will provide it's just going to make matters worse. Get some good drag radials and learn how to max out the current combo, then think about the gear change.
Before you dive into gears you should try to get the car working as it sits. Unless you're at terrible high altitude that car is capable of much more bone stock. Realistically it should be in the low 12s trapping another 2mph or so. Adding gears to that is just. Going to make tbharder to launch. Get it working as it should first before adding gears
Gears make for snappier performance, but as others have said, it's going to make launching trickier. They will also require you to adjust your shifting. I'd concur with the recommendation to address tires and driving first, and look at suspension/alignment as well. Gears will do little good if those items aren't taken care of.
A side note-if you get the forced induction bug, you'll probably want to stick with stock gearing anyway.
With the manual (and the addition of 4.10 gears)you can launch @ a lower rpm to achieve same 60' and it will put less stress on the clutch.
But the overall best way to improve et is seat time.
Yah, your theoretical top speed drops from 254mph to a pathetic 222mph. Good news is it gets there faster, but who cares? I drive at least 240mph everywhere I go.
