I recently bought a 2005 C6 with the 6 speed manual. The clutch bites as soon as you start to let out of the clutch and the pedal feels spongy and doesn't return to the stop in a very timely manner. What could be causing this? Thanks in advance.
It could be several things. Do you know anything about the history of the car? Some aftermarket clutches can be very grabby.
Check the easy stuff first. Look at the clutch fluid. I'd recommend swapping it per the Ranger method listed on the forum. If that doesn't do the trick, try bleeding the slave cylinder. If that doesn't solve your issue, you'll probably want to look at the components (master cylinder, slave cylinder, pressure plate/disk). The spongy issue does sound like hydraulics. Check to see if your pedal return spring is in place-a lot of them break or get removed.

As far as I know it's none stock clutch. I bought it from a dealership. It was traded in and has 73k miles. 2005 model and the only mod that I know of is exhaust. I'll do the things you suggested. Thanks a lot!
Like Paratrooper said, try changing your clutch fluid via the "ranger method" as it's known here on the forum. Just do a quick search and you should find it. When I first got my c6, the fluid was almost black and thick like syrup. Now it's watery and clear. It'll take some time for all the fluid to be switched out with this method, but it's something that I've now incorporated into my monthly routine.

Okay I'm new to the forum I wasn't able to find that thread, but I read something about removing the lid off of the reservoir and using a syringe drain all the fluid, wipe out the reservoir, refill with new dot4 fluid, pump the clutch, take a drive, and repeat until it's clear?
ETA: No need to Drive the car. Just keep changing fluid and pumping the clutch 50 times until it is clear to straw colored. Then put fresh DOT 4 in and done.
