LSX 454 Swap
Good Afternoon! Has anyone out there done a GMPP LSX 454 crate motor swap into their C6? Any help/input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I know it weighs about 100lbs heavier.
I would like to know how the handling has changed after this swap.
Would be nice N/A power!
I would do this in lieu of a S/C, probably rest easier.
Ya I know it is much more costly but the piece of mind would be worth it.
Would have to upgrade the clutch and differential too.

Some SC's also add about 90 lbs to the front end.

And plenty of Corvette owners could afford to lose 100lbs

How will his ECM pair up with this new engine?

I don't think it'll care as long as the correct reluctor wheel is used.
It'll obviously need to be tuned but there isn't all that much to make one run. Injectors, coils, cam position sensor, crank sensor, IAT, MAF, MAP and ECT are all I can think of at the moment. And throttle body, of course.

There are better options. You can make more power, perform better, for less money.

Pretty stout engine.
Cams and heads will not pass smog as well as long tube headers.
Actually not sure if the GMPP LSX454 will either. Going to need injection I know, and all the smog gear on the same yr car.

"In honor of jpee"
Arencha glad you asked! But, yeh that #9 post by Boomer would give me some second thoughts, esp. living in NYC and trying to get it past emissions and inspection. Good luck tho if you do try it.

I have the LSX 454 crate motor & supercharged by Andy from AA Corvettes in my C5Z. The LSX 454 will fit into your C6 moderately easy. Joe
