Default Exhaust Question

So I got a used Corsa exhaust and it came with a mid pipe with resonators. My question is will this quieten the exhaust or just equal out pressure? Next move is a set of long tubes and a tune, so would you run the mid pipe or not? I want a clean sound, but i don't want it quiet.

First question: Do you know which Corsa you have. As example the extreme is much louder than sport.

A resonator will quiet down any exhaust.

Will you use the OEM cats, Go to high flows or remove. Again this will impact sound, flow and smell.

You might want to consider an X pipe as part of the install. Keep in mind that what ever you do it should match up to your headers that you plan to install in the future. Keep in mind that some after market exhaust will require some muffler shop cutting/welding depending on the mid pipe configuration.

EG: I had a c5 Z06 and added the Corsa sports with a non Corsa X pipe and it required some mods to get it installed. I actually like the sound better with the stock H pipe. It did not have resonators and had stock cats.

At present I have a GS that has AR long tubes, high flow cats and rest is stock all the way back to the NPP's. Under WOT it sounds great. Does generate more heat and smell when the windows are down.

As you know from forum posts. Trying to determine what will sound good to you is subjective.

Hope this helps you in your quest.

Thanks for the info, the exhaust i bought is supposed to be a sport exhaust. Corsa said it may be a touring because of the resonated h pipe. Guy said it's louder than stock in all situations but not way louder until hard acceleration and it comes alive. So i may leave the stock H in place for now until LT's and camshaft are added
