Default Tune needed after milling heads? /+ compression

sent heads off to AHP for moldstar90 guides, hollow SS valves, valve job, no porting. im also having them mill the heads .025" for a little compression increase.

will i need a retune after this? technically the air/fuel ratio shouldn't have changed i wouldnt think?

If you are only doing the heads, a tune will not be needed.

Question, have you considered using .030 head gaskets instead of milling?

Too close .040 is minimum sense most ls pistons tdc is outside the deck by up to .007

If milling make it count every 6 thous milled will net 1/10th of compression so .030 is about 1/2 point 11.2 11.3 for pump gas is safe.

Scan for more than a blip or two of knock when you get it back. Knock could increase with more compression so some timing tweaks could be needed.

Hey xBoostx,

My comment was based on preserving the quench, why mill the heads when you could do a .030 head gasket? If one is wanting .040 then mill .010 and then use .030 gasket. My point being people change combos all the time (not saying OP is or will) but milling heads that much is a commitment. My opinion has be stated, I digress
