Default Help, stock compression calc

So the LS3 is supposed to be 10.7 cr, but when I plug the following info into a compression calculator I get 10.9. If I use 0 deck height I get 10.7 but I keep reading the pistons are ~0.007 out of the hole which is entered as negative number in calculators.
Bore. 4.065
stroke 3.622
deck height. -0.007 +\-.002
gasket 0.051
head vol. 68.5 cc

what do I have wrong?

You also have to take into account the volume in the valve pockets on top of the piston. Also a small volume around the piston crown above the first ring.

I forgot to list. I'm entering pistons as 0.00 since they are flat top pistons from what I've read. Put all that in and calculators say 10.9 compression

bump. No one can tell me why my compression calc is off for stock motor? I plan to upping compression to 11.2 with stock cam.

"Flattop" pistons can still have valve pockets.

And don't forget the ring of empty space between the piston crown and the cylinder wall. It matters.

EDIT:
This article at Hotrod.com --> http://www.hotrod.com/articles/ccrp-...e-motor-build/

Calls these LS3 pistons "flattop"

The reason your calculation is wrong is you are not inputting all the data that is required to get an accurate answer.

My 2011 gs have no valve relieve on the pistons also not all the pistons come exactly .006 above I seen 3 to 6 thous out but not 7 I do say 10.7 is pretty accurate with chambers often found at 70cc

Op if you want to increase compression for every .006 you'll get 1/10 of a point so take .030 off for 11.3

everything I've found says LS3 has 68.5 cc heads stock not 70 cc which is why compression calc doesn't come out right.
