Default Has anyone done Trick Flow Heads & Cam on an LS3?

Im just trying to see if anyone has used Trick Flow Heads with custom cam on an LS3 and what type of gains where seen?

I have heard great things about the trick flow heads... yet cant find many personal reviews of people who actually run them,

I'm about to pull the trigger for my 2011 GS Manual yet want the biggest bang for the buck and just have not seen the reviews needed to feel confident.

I was thinking about having the TF heads ported as well...

For the price, I don't feel 500ish HP is worth the price of admission. I would like to see 575+ RWHP... I may go boost however I have always been a fan of the predictable NA power curves.

Thanks ahead of time.

NICK

LOL. I didnt reply because I have never done it but there was a car at the last MIR rental that had TFS heads and a G6x3 cam with a ported fast 102. I think I saw it run 132MPH N/A.

Talk to Tony Mamo. He has done this combo and can show you some results.

Good numbers. What intake are you running? Any track numbers?

How long have you been running that setup? How long do expect your springs & etc to hold up?

About 1.5 years on the set up around 5k miles using same original Trick Flow springs no sign of weakness shift points @ 7.2 on the third set of drag radials.

What Rockers & Lifters are you using, compression ratio?
HR equivalent ~ 230/236 I would call that Schmedium compared to
some of the cams I see specced for LS3s.

My LLSR is 243/249 115 +3 (17.5* overlap)
real challenge to tune drivability in a 99 C5 PCM,
especially with mid-length runners & a lighter clutch.

Do you have a Dyno Graph?

I'm using a few good supporting parts to eliminate weakness and service so T&D machine rockers.

Using these lifters...

http://www.tickperformance.com/comp-...r-lsx-engines/

I milled the heads .150 thousands chambers @ 45 cc so 14. to 1 remember with E85 stock short block & pistons except for fly cutting.

The ghaph below is quite likely to start a controversy but is what I got from the Dynocom.

did you do any additional port work to the heads to offset that substantial mill?

No additional port work IMO is totally unnecessary these heads are very flow generous as they come enough for even a very healthy ls7 in fact.

Only for a four hundred plus cubes and a max effort will I bother with any additional port work on these heads.

That about the reduced combustion chamber volume from milling?
