Gear selector issue? No start, hard click issue
After a new battery and an overnight battery disconnect in a 2008 A6 3LT drop top, got the dreaded loud click, no start, black dash w/ engine light, no codes...
I found giggled the shifter in park got the dash to come on but still no start until I goofed around somemore. ( I thought maybe the car wasn't completely in park)
Now it appears that if I pressed the forward facing button on the gear selector while in Park, I can get it to start.
I haven't had the chance to try and reproduce this other than tonight.
anybody ever had the forward facing button on the gear selector go bad?
