Assuming it's very similar to the one Christopher made for us, and it must be, it can be installed without dropping anything. At worst to make it a little easier you can just lower the cradle a few inches without touching anything but the cradle bolts.

I'm bumping this thread in hopes that Doug will come back on soon and tell us that he's going to soon do a run of these braces for the A6.
There's another thread on the FI forum that pretty much demonstrates why these things are a good addition for any one putting serious power through an A6.
For those that missed out on Chris's brace, I see that RPM has them for 4L60.'s. It looks very similar to the 6L80 one and it would probably be very easy to adapt it.
