I'm putting dual mode on the 05. Left side stock muffler slid off great. Right side a different story. I can't seem to get the end of the pipe past the lip edge of the gas tank heat shield and the tranny. Twisted every which way for clearance, no go. I'm trying to find that sweet spot, just like trying to fill the gas tank at the 4 o'clock position...
Any suggestions appreciated.
That heat shield is only held on by a few relatively easy to reach bolts if you want to just pull it off of the car. Not sure what else to say other than make sure the car is high enough for you to rock the muffler down and twist.

One thing I noticed is that the heat shields are not symetrical right to left. The rear most heat shied tab on the right is causing the interference problem. I'm going to trim the tab back some. Hopefully this will give the clearance I need.
Try the hard side first one of the side is allways harder then the other side, if that dosen work it usually help if you loosen the swaybar. But you dont need to loosen the endlinks.

Thanks for the reply, but the pictures I posted reflect that cutting the shield tab let me remove the right side.
(First thing I did was remove the swaybar.)
