You asking in terms of performance or in terms of sound?

I wouldn't do it. There are too many nice header-back aftermarket systems available to justify having a custom system built. Eliminating the cats is one thing but I see no advantage to eliminating the H or X pipe both in sound and performance.

No cats? No muffler? Just resonators?
To each his own, but I would not be happy with this setup. The rasp and drone this would produce would drive me crazy.

Also, if you are just looking for sound you can just get cutouts. I don’t know if there is enough space to install cutouts before the cats but there is room after. This way you can have it loud when you want, quiet when you don’t.

There will be drone, you either have to add resonator pipes or apply some soundproof stuff in the hatch.. Easy to live with if you are using a manual

I just had a muffler shop remove the mufflers, bend pipe and weld my oem tips back in. Best sounding mod ever!! Coupled with the paddle shift , makes it sound like a corvette should sound , to me. I've taken it on a 2200 mile trip and at 75-80 on the interstate you can have a normal conversation , my girlfriend even was able to nap, but when you lean into it, you really do hear the exhaust open up.
08 coupe stock otherwise.

the drone and rasp alone would be hideous... my car has tsp headers, tsp race x pipe no cats..and it came with flowmaster 40 mufflers, sounded llike ****

and the drone was totally shitty, i didnt drive it till i changed the axleback ... i had to go cheaper with an nxtstep axleback...(cuz my diff case popped and had to replace that) but it sounds awesome... at idle its not loud at all...at highway speeds and normal going through the gears.. its not too loud but it you know its there.. on trailing throttle coming to stops or slowing its pops and complains cuz its on the rich side...but i freaking love it...

but when I let it eat... its loud as hell ..but still sounds good. there is no drone at all..

with out an x or h the exhaust note kinda loses some refinement that i really like ,,for me a nice clean..deep,.,refined exhaust note is just much part of an awesome car as how it looks and runs..im not a professional ..i just know what i want my cars and trucks to sound like

cant wait to put a big cam in it
