I see this in #6 cylinder. Spark plug looks great, not even wet for that cylinder. I have this engine on my engine stand with the blower, do you think the oil ran down into the cylinder from spinning the engine around (came from blower)? 12,000 mile motor, was told it was running when pulled.

If the plug doesn't look wet, I would say that the oil there just poured down into the cylinder when you were removing the head. Lots of oil up in the rocker arm area and some could easily pour in there in the process of removal. That much oil would certainly show up as a huge leak when checking the oil level on the dipstick and would also foul the heck out of the plug and make it look drippy wet.

I agree, also I am thinking the piston would be in worse shape, covered a lot more with burnt oil.

Carbon-wise, that piston looks very good...no different than the other ones ( except it is sitting in a puddle...LOL).

Are you running a catch can? Is this a LS2, LS3, LS7 or LS9? I would agree with the above comments as a possible scenario on how the oil ended up in that cylinder.

No....a puddle is sitting ON it. Seems like the rings are holding pretty well though.
