Installed this carbon fiber C.A.air cleaner several months ago.
Got M.A.F. sensor code. got it reset ,ok for 25 mile, pulled fuze a few times then go A few more miles engine surges slightly, and sometimes a rough idle.and get a another code ,I think E C M sensor, can pull that fuze and light goes off A while but engine still has slight surge, occasional rough idle
Rather out of the way here at ranch, local repair shop can kinda read code ,but can not tell me much,
Nearest dealer or tuner 100 plus miles away
Would the air cleaner be the cause for all this or would the E C M sensor be a problem.Or does new air cleaner kick E C M code.
This is on A 2010 Grand Sport 30000 miles,no other mods
And I am about ready to remove it.
Thanks 66racer
Post above is a correct step to rule out you new intake as the issue.
Exact code would help diagnose.
You might have had an issue with the wiring that plugs into the intake tube...do a search.
Could be a air leak or just a coincidence and is not related.
Good hunting.
I did all that, since no one local to tune ,I reinstalled original A C seems O.K. will know more after A few miles.
Will go back to it if I can line up A tune. Thanks Elmer
LS3's Are very sensitive to airflow and turbulence in the air bridge . That is the reason why GM designed a Helmholtz resonator into the air bridge . One of the few CAI that you can install where you won't experience a CEL or surging is a VARARAM .
