I dont think boost will make it leak , I stripped a header bolt on my big block and ran it that way for a long time before i fixed it, never leaked. Just depends on which one it is and how thick the header flange is .
Heli coils are great and are made just for this purpose. . You buy the size that you want the threads to be , drill out the hole, tap it to the size that is recommended, then spin in the heli coil. , stronger than the original thread.. Any machine shop can do it for you
Didn't want to hear this at all
But I will make sure the bolts run all the way in by hand and also check hole alignment with old header flange first.

Further I have chased all the Stage 8 bolts, perfect and flange with a straight edge, perfect.
I would like to think that it was operator error and nothing to do with Kooks or their bolts that were provided, JMHO

Just go slow , hold the header in exact alignment as it is going to be installed in the car , spin the bolts in by hand , once you are sure they are going in straight then you can use a rachet
If you are going to try to do this yourself buy a drill bit that goes in the opposite direction than normal. The problem with regular drill bits is it goes the way that tightens the bolt further in. Sounds like yours is in there but no point in making it worse. If you take to machine shop of course then they have all the equipment to take it out. Again make sure you drill the header hole out a little sounds like it is off a bit.
