If the oil hasn't been drained from your engine, you could pull a sample and send to Blackstone Labs for their analysis. About $35. Tell them what's happening.
That won't give you the full situation, but it's one more bit of info for you and the shop.

Default Ouch

I have an 08 and my pressure fell and like a bonehead I drove it for about 2 miles thinking my gauge was bad - But the lifters started pecking and I knew I was in fact a bonehead and the gauge was right - $8800 bucks later with a new LS2 long block, it was fixed.
The relief valve on the oil pump failed and I hear this happens more than we think it does. The guys I used actually went back with a pump they use on the Camaro - they said it was more reliable- they have been doing mods in the Metroplex sine the 90's so I trusted them. Been 2 yrs so I think they steered me well..
Sorry bro as this does sting for a while -

This is happened for the last 3 days. Today, the warning came on again, but oil pressure didn't start reading for about 30 seconds, but then it was minimal. I travel 76 miles to work, and the gage read 13-15 psi most of the way. The oil temp crept to 208 just before I got to work.

Oil was last changed in Dec, still have 52% remaining on oil life. 66k miles.

I'll take it in this weekend for service, but a little concerned about the trip home this afternoon. I don't have any tools on me to swap out with a mechanical gage.

Any thoughts or concerns? Thanks, Paul

The shop (Horsepower Sales, Palm Beach, FL) came back yesterday after checking the oil.... not good. They found an abundance of bearing debris in the oil. After taking all things into consideration, I have decided to go with a LS2 402 Stroker from Texas Speed. It's completely forged and should make great power. I am having the cam pulled from the current motor, if still good, and added to the stroker. I'm also taking this opportunity to have Kooks headers and X-pipe added to the Borla's already there.

Sucks man. But at least you got a plan now. It's gonna be badass when it's done. New motor to break in!

After a month of being in the shop, I finally got her back on Saturday. The bill was painful, but the results are satisfying. #3 bearing on the old motor was eating itself, metal chards straight up and down the #3 main bearing vertical plane, and in the oil pump pickup tube of course.

I came out of the shop with the following:
Texas Speed LS2/L76 402 Stroker w/Forged internals
Comp Cams .624/.624 hyd roller cam/ double valve spring heads
C6 Z06 clutch (old one needed upgrading) Awesome clutch!
Kooks Long tubes and X-pipe with cat delete to match the Borla's already on there.

I'm in the break-in period, and can't wait to go WOT. Once I take it back for the break-in oil change and bolt check, they'll dyno and tune. They estimate 530 RWHP (Mustang Dyno) which is a nice increase from the 340ish stock.

Sweet! Bet you're glad it's running right now. I'd imagine it's a good improvement over stock. Post an idle clip or WOT after it's tuned. Thanks for updating us!

Nice!
That really was a hell of an expensive way to go about doing an upgrade though...
