Default Balancer question

The time has come to replace my balancer on my 2007 base. I called ATI and the 917266 (steel / aluminum) was recommended. Does anyone know if it is the same size so the stock belts will work? I want to replace them while it is apart and forgot to ask. I figure I will replace the balancer, the bolt (ARP brand), the two belts and front seal. Am I missing anything? I have done some searching on this forum and there seems to be mixed opinions on replacing the front seal. If I am correct, it is just behind the H/B. You can pull it out with a pick and a new one is pressed in with your thumbs. A two minute job once the balancer is off. Why not replace it, it is a $10 part? Am I missing something here?

Interesting that ATI recommended aluminum/steel. Do you do any racing?
A few years ago, I called ATI they recommended the steel/steel for strictly street 2008 C6 application.

ATI #917246 7.53 outer diameter - steel shell --------- steel hub --- 9.75 lbs.

ATI #917266 7.48 outer diameter - aluminum shell---- steel hub ---7.34 lbs.

Looks like you have everything and yes, replace the seal for $10 part. Stock belt sizes (2) should be good.

Yes, they recommended the aluminum /steel. I sent ATI an email and also called the next day. Both times the steel/aluminum was recommended. I do not race it and it is completely stock with the exception of a CAI and axle back exhaust. Thanks for the help. A month or so down the road I don't want to think "I wish I would have replaced ... while they had everything apart".

The reason for the question is because I am getting the work done at a speciality shop and not the dealer. I am providing the parts and wanted to make sure I should provide the front seal too.

There's a lot cheaper (and just as good) balancers out there besides ATI. Especially if your not racing the car.

You've not replaced many seals !!!

any seal you can pick out and press in with two thumbs ,not going to cut it.
